My name is Irina Afanasyeva, and I am a teacher of Russian as a Foreign Language (RFL), with extensive practical and linguistic experience.
For nearly 17 years, I have been working in a Turkish company, where I engage in daily communication with native speakers and immerse myself deeply in Turkish culture. My journey into teaching began recently, in April 2024, when I decided to share my knowledge and help others discover the world of the Russian language.
My language skills have been shaped by a combination of practical experience and advanced academic training. I began studying Turkish at Ankara University (Ankara Üniversitesi), where I achieved a C1 level of proficiency. Later, I earned the qualification of "Teacher of Russian as a Foreign Language" from St. Petersburg State University.
Currently, I am continuing my studies in the Faculty of Turkish Language and Literature at Anadolu University (Anadolu Üniversitesi).
My educational method
It is essential that each of my students not only speaks and writes Russian correctly but also feels confident and comfortable in real-life communication.
MY TEACHING METHODOLOGY
During my lessons, I place special emphasis on conversational practice: we work on conducting dialogues, listening, understanding the speaker, decoding cultural nuances, and connecting with the language on a deeper level.
